We’re a community-centered and 100% volunteer organization dedicated to giving all Philadelphians access to fresh and
healthy food.
We rely on a community network of volunteers to keep our fridge full, and community fed.
We stock the fridge with a network of grocers, restaurants, and members of the community with produce, pantry staples, and prepared meals that would otherwise be wasted or thrown out.

Our eighth fridge location in Grays Ferry at Universal Audenried High School is truly a community effort! A generous sponsorship from JD Sports allowed us to purchase the fridge, and provided funds for months of fridge fills.
The fridge shelter was built by Universal Audenried students using repurposed gym bleachers from the school. JD Sports also commissioned local muralist Hagopian Arts to transform the shelter as part of her Eco Murals project, with a beautiful design celebrating local wildlife and pollinators.
Today, the fridge is stocked and maintained by South Philadelphia Community Fridge volunteers alongside students in Universal Audenried’s READY… SET… WORK!!! program, which helps prepare young adult scholars for employment.
The opening of our location hosted by LUHV Vegan Bistro at 19th and Ellsworth Streets.
